Just a spoon is enough and the dried orchid will fill the pot with new, green roots:

1. Removing old substrate and damaged roots:

Remove old bark from the plant.

Carefully cut off any damaged roots.

 

Thoroughly clean the roots of any remaining substrate under running water.

 

Carefully inspect the roots and remove any soft, brown or rotten parts.

Healthy roots are firm and light green in color.
